The Mission of Saint Anastasia’s Parent Teacher Organization is to foster a positive school atmosphere while promoting strong working relationships among parents, teachers, and administrators to benefit our children’s learning environment.
In 2007-2008, Saint Anastasia’s Parent Teacher Organization:
Donated $2,000.00 to our school’s operating budget
Provided each instructional teacher with a $65.00 stipend
Supported the annual “A Night for the Children” auction/gala
Hosted a Teacher/Staff Appreciation Dinner
Purchased a new piece of playground equipment
Provided teachers with refreshments each month (Munchie Mondays)
Parents, students, teachers, and staff are highly encouraged to participate in P.T.O. functions throughout the school year. It is a great way to stay informed! School administrators attend P.T.O. meetings and are able to keep parents well-informed and answer questions about school policies or upcoming events. Research shows that students with involved parents perform better in school and have fewer behavioral difficulties. It is also a great way to earn yearly volunteer hours and meet other wonderful families in the Saint Anastasia community.
In 2008-2009, Saint Anastasia’s Parent Teacher Organization is looking forward to our upcoming school year and is anxious to meet you and your family. There will be many fun-filled activities planned throughout the year to foster connections between parents, teachers, and students. Our P.T.O. encourages you to participate and would greatly appreciate your involvement! We are working to improve communication between home and school through a quarterly P.T.O. newsletter and two newly purchased bulletin display cases at the front entrance of the school.
In addition, our P.T.O. will organize a new program called “Support A Family” during the first semester of the school year. Through this program, new families to Saint Anastasia will be paired with existing families who volunteer to support new families during the initial months of the school year. This support system will involve periodic phone calls, emails, being available to answer questions, and offer friendship. If you are interested in earning volunteer hours by being a supportive family to a new family, call Jennie Capezza at 595-3819. Families will be paired based upon similarities such as home residence and ages of children. Thank you in advance for your willingness to help make all families feel welcomed at Saint Anastasia Catholic School!
